Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger Plans To Keep Bolton Wanderers Target Jack Wilshere
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he wants to keep Jack Wilshere at the club for the new season.
Wilshere spent the second half of last season on loan at fellow Premier League side Bolton Wanderers and was tipped to go out on loan again this season.
A number of Premier League clubs, including the Trotters, had expressed their interest in securing the talented 18-year-old midfielder on loan for the coming campaign, however Wenger has insisted that Wilshere will remain at Arsenal as he figures in his first-team plans.
"I think I will keep him [this season]," Wenger told Sky Sports News.
"He can play on the flank or in the middle, deeper or wider as well. He should get a few games."
Meanwhile Wenger was happy with the performance of new signings Marouane Chamakh and Laurent Koscielny on their home debuts against AC Milan.
The pair started their first game at the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners drew 1-1 with the Italian giants in the Emirates Cup.
Chamakh scored the goal and after the game Wenger stated that was impressed by the pair and believes they will prove valuable additions to the squad.
"Chamakh had good presence up front, and played a good intelligent game. He and Koscielny did very well," said Wenger.
"We wanted a player up front who can play for the team and works hard, who can go into combinations and at the back, someone who was calm, can read the game and play the ball out.
"Of course it is only one game, but their attitude in training is very good and they can only improve."
